This policy has been prepared and published within the requirements of health and safety legislation. The purpose of the policy is to establish general standards for health, safety and welfare within which the organization will carry out its work and to distribute responsibility for the implementation of these standards.

The Company is committed to good working practices, particularly in respect of health and safety. It is the policy of this Company that all works undertaken will be carried out in such a way as to avoid, reduce and control foreseeable risks to the health and safety of its employees, sub-contractors and the general public. This policy will be implemented as far as is reasonably practicable and in accordance with the statutory requirements.

The Company will ensure that only suitable and competent employees and sub-contractors undertake work on the company's behalf, where legislative requirements exist.
The Company will ensure that personnel working on site are adequately supervised, provided with all necessary information and training, and provided with suitable plant, equipment and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to safely carry out their duties.

All new personnel arriving on site will be provided with their own copy of the Health & Safety Policy and be inducted. Employees and sub-contractors will be required to sign to confirm that they have understood the policy and will adhere to the policy.


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

The Managing has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the company's policy. In particular they are responsible for:
·Ensuring that the policy is communicated and that its effectiveness is monitored.
·Maintaining a link with the Heath and Safety Executive, Environmental Health departments and other external agencies  for advice and information.
·Implementation and monitoring of the policy and the provision of general advice about the implication of the law.
·Identification of health and safety training needs.
·Ensuring that all sites are safe and that the application of the Health & Safety policy on an individual site is consistent with the policy.
·Ensuring that employees and sub-contractors are fully aware of their responsibilities regarding safety and are fully competent with regard to the work they are carrying out.


The Company will, so far as is reasonably practicable, also ensure that:-
·Adequate resources are provided, to ensure that proper provision can be made for health and safety.
·Risk Assessments are carried out and periodically reviewed.
·Systems of work are provided and maintained that are safe and without risks to health.
·Arrangements for use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances for use at work are safe and without risks to health.
·All operatives are provided with such information, instruction, training and supervision, as is necessary to secure their safety and health at work and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions.
·Where appropriate, health surveillance will be provided for operatives.
·The provision and maintenance of all plant, machinery and equipment is safe and without risk to health.
·The working environment of all operatives is safe and without risks to health and that adequate provision is made with regard to the facilities and arrangements for their welfare at work.
·The place of work is safe and that there is safe access to and from the workplace. · Monitoring activities are undertaken to maintain agreed standards.
